Michael Mawn returns to the top step of the podium in Spain.
Last weekend saw the Freeride World Tour return to Baqueira Beret, Spain, for the first stage of the 2023 season. Following his win here in 2022, Michael returned full of confidence and ready to once again show what he's made of on Freeride Snowboarding's biggest stage.
Michael showed off his technical riding over difficult, sharky terrain, before cutting into a steep and spicy couloir with a huge drop out of it. He found his way to a few more drops before white-rooming himself with some slash turns through deep powder.
Michael shared the podium with FWT rookie, Holden Samuels, and French rider, Ludo Guillot-Diat. He sits top of the Snowboard Men category, taking the golden bib into the next round alongside Max Palm in the Ski Men category and Katie Anderson & Addison Rafford in the Womens Snowboard and Ski categories respectively.
The riders travelled to Andorra this week with the next stage of the competition due to take place on Feb 2nd. Watch live tonight or catch up on www.freerideworldtour.com
And once again, congratulations Michael!
